Mr. Shell Youngwall began his aviation career serving with the Swedish Air Force during WWII. A shining example of the Greatest Generation, he began to source parts in support of equipment left behind in the war to his friends back in Sweden. From the kitchen table of his apartment in Manhattan, he began as a fixed-wing spare parts broker but the business quickly grew into a distribution company with more and more repeat customers.
In 1954, Transaero began its venture into the commercial aviation market. From these humble roots, Transaero has grown into a trusted, value-added distributor of aerospace products, proudly serving the US military markets and beyond.
As a global leader in the aerospace industry, Transaero supplies a vast array of spares and replacement parts. The expansion of the Military Aviation Components Division has propelled Transaero’s growth as a trusted channel partner to a wide range of cutting- edge manufacturers supplying the Defense Industry.
In 2007, Transaero moved to their current corporate headquarters, a 100,000-square- foot facility in Melville, New York, to efficiently handle the demands of the growing business.
Today, Transaero remains a privately owned business, with Mr. Perry Youngwall serving as President. The company, with its specialized teams of technically trained, degreed engineers, salesforce and quality specialists, continues to offer a wide array of aerospace and aircraft product options for a multitude of applications. “It’s a testament to our employees, supplier partners and customers that we’ve been able to succeed as a family-owned business for over 65 years. I’m extremely grateful and proud to be a part of Transaero’s legacy.” -Mr. Perry Youngwall, President & CEO
